About Gabriella

Gabriella Street is a fine artist based in Dénia, Spain, on the Costa Blanca. Working in oils and acrylics, she creates large-scale abstract paintings rooted in memory, emotion, and lived experience. Her works explore how places and moments leave their mark long after they have passed.

Rooted in personal moments and fleeting impressions, each painting emerges as a quiet reflection of something once felt. A place, a season, a shift in atmosphere. Her work draws from the natural world, not as a literal subject, but as a source of sensation: the warmth of late summer light, the stillness before a storm, the softened edges of a distant horizon.

Born and raised on the island of Jersey, Gabriella spent twelve years working as a graphic designer. A practice that sharpened her eye for composition, colour, and visual language, but it was painting that always called her back. In 2025, she made the decision to leave the design world behind and commit fully to her studio practice, relocating to the coast of Spain to do so.

Her work has earned recognition at the highest levels. In 2023, she was commissioned by HRH The Princess Royal to design and paint a sculpture for the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, created to mark fifty years of royal patronage to the charity. This sculpture now live in her home at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire. Gabriella’s paintings are held in private collections internationally, and she has exhibited across the UK and Europe.

Working intuitively, Gabriella allows colour, movement, and her emotions to guide the process, creating compositions that unfold slowly and organically. Layers are built and softened, held and released, until each piece finds its own rhythm, something that is both grounded and transient.

Her paintings are less about depicting a place, and more about holding onto the feeling of one. The emotional residue left behind in the body, where memory becomes atmosphere.

She currently paints from her studio in Dénia, where the Mediterranean light continues to find its way into everything she makes.
